Seedco’s AmeriCorps State* members are a group of dedicated individuals who commit one year to serving low-income families in New York City.
Each Seedco AmeriCorps member is placed at one of Seedco’s community-based partner organizations or a Seedco-operated direct service site, where he or she performs the following critical functions for one year:
- Connect clients to benefits and work supports, such as food stamps and Medicaid, using Seedco’s EarnBenefits tool.
- Plan ongoing service projects and recruit volunteers for service events.
- Perform outreach and raise awareness about services offered at local community organizations.
- Lead and participate in additional site-specific projects.
Seedco provides members with trainings on these functions as well as regular professional development workshops throughout their term.
A new cohort of AmeriCorps members starts in early fall each year, with recruitment taking place in the months prior. Learn more about how to apply during recruitment season.
