Alex Saavedra is Vice President at the Upper Manhattan Workforce1 Career Center. Previously, he served as Assistant Director for Commercial Revitalization at the South Bronx Overall Economic Development Corporation (SOBRO). He also served as Director of Planning and Historic Preservation for the Upper Manhattan Empowerment Zone Development Corporation (UMEZ), and as Senior Policy Analyst at The After School Corporation. Alex received a BA from Stanford University and an MS in Urban Planning from the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at Columbia University.
