Tara Colton, former Associate Vice President for Program Development and Planning at FEGS Health & Human Services, has joined as Senior Vice President of Programs. She will bring more than 15 years of experience in both the public and nonprofit sectors, and works closely with Seedco’s leadership team to develop the programmatic vision and strategy to guide the organization.

“We are very pleased to welcome Tara to Seedco. Her expertise in the workforce development field will be a great asset to Seedco. I, along with the Board, leadership team and staff, look forward to working closely with Tara to continue to serve low-income individuals and families,” said President and CEO Barbara D. Gunn. 

Prior to joining Seedco, Tara was most recently Associate Vice President for Program Development and Planning at FEGS Health & Human Services. “I’m thrilled to join the Seedco team, particularly at this time of great change for the nation’s workforce development and health care systems. Seedco has nearly three decades of experience supporting low-income workers and strengthening communities across the country, and I’m excited to build upon that strong foundation as we look towards the future,” said Colton.

Colton has also held positions as Managing Director of the NYC Mayor’s Office of Human Capital Development, Executive Director of the Mayor’s Office of Adult Education, Director of Strategy and Partnerships at the NYC Dept. of Education Office of Adult and Continuing Education, and Deputy Director at the Center for an Urban Future.

She holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the Baruch College School of Public Affairs, a Bachelor’s Degree from Wesleyan University and completed the Coro Leadership New York Program.
