Marla Smith-Brown is the Senior Director of Seedco’s Mid-South Regional office. Marla has served Memphis and its surrounding area for over 16 years in both the public and private sectors, providing oversight to multiple federally funded programs. Most recently, Marla served as the Director of Grants Management at Southwest Tennessee Community College. Marla was responsible for implementation of and evaluation for 30 externally funded programs while ensuring contract compliance. Marla provided fiscal oversight to each program, totaling over $20 million in federal, state and local funding. Marla also worked for the Shelby County Government providing programmatic oversight and building collaborative partnerships throughout Shelby County. These programs included leadership in reentry programs, youth mentoring initiatives, domestic violence advocacy, as well as several housing initiatives for homeless families and survivors of domestic violence. Marla holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from the University of Memphis.
